at petrol station in ‪#‎kastropi‬ near ‪#‎idomeni‬: there are 30 busses waiting. it’s snowing. people waiting in the cold. try to keep them warm with camp fires. they will have to wait a long, long time. authorities in #idomeni are overwhelmed (@no_border_kiel)

Kurzer Zwischenstand von der griechisch-makedonischen Grenze: Unsere Crew berichtet von inzwischen 30 Bussen, die an der Tankstelle in Kastropi (nahe Idomeni) warten. Es schneit, die Menschen frieren. Sie versuchen sich mit Lagerfeuern zu wärmen, das Thermometer soll heute Nacht auf -9 Grad Celsius fallen. Der Sturm, der im Libanon bereits drei refugees das Leben kostete, ist erst im Anmarsch. Die Menschen werden lange warten müssen, bis sie zur Grenze, die bis heute nachmittag um 16 Uhr wieder komplett geschlossen war, vorgelassen werden, nur um dort dann wieder die rassistische Segregation über sich ergehen zu lassen. breaking news from ‪#‎idomeni‬: many heated tents at the border are empty while refugees waiting under the open sky are cold.armored cops with shields block the access to the border, 6 busses with refugees waiting. children crying.15 more busses expected for tonight. many NGOs already went to bed.cops announce to reopen the border not earlier than in 40 minutes. refugees are bottled up. Unsere Crew berichtete heute Abend aus Idomeni, dass viele der beheizten Zelte nach wie vor leer stünden, während die Geflüchteten im Freien frieren. Ständig sei das Weinen von Kindern zu hören gewesen. Die Grenze war lange komplett geschlossen und wurde von gepanzerten Cops mit Schilden bewacht, so dass sich immer mehr Busse mit Geflüchteten in Idomeni stauten. Während viele NGOs schon Feierabend gemacht hatten, wurden für die Nacht 15 weitere Busse erwartet.

Our crew sent us the following report ‚bout the situation in Idomeni (deutscher Text unten!):

„As they informed us in the squat about increasing police violence in Idomeni, we went to this small city at the border to Macedonia. On our way we saw a lot of police. At 20km from the border we realized that there were 200 people at a petrol station. Busses coming from the south of Greece via Athens let them off at this petrol station (and not in Idomeni) in order to „ease“ the situation at the border. Therefore near the border tents with blankets, heated tents as reception rooms, showers and toilets are deserted and the food stays untouched, while a lot of people are trapped at a highway traffic island only 20km away where the only overnight accommodation is that petrol station. „[#naraontour] December 28th 2015“ weiterlesen

After more than 33h on the road, the first crew from Kiel arrived in Thessaloniki this evening. While a truck full of donations was blocked at the Serbian border two days ago, our crew didn’t get in trouble with border guards. They’re now in the squat „Ορφανοτροφείο“ (Orfanotrofio) which opened its door to refugees on December 7th and offers board and lodging to 80 refugees right now. „[#naraontour] December 27th 2015“ weiterlesen
